Economic and Social Sciences

The degree course , in English, focuses on the study of how individuals reason and make decisions (for example on the topics of saving, energy consumption, fertility or health), a crucial dimension both for companies and organizations (as in case of the launch of new products) and for governments to develop economic policies (for example measures to combat poverty or unemployment).

The cornerstone of this innovative study plan is that individual behavior is not determined solely by economic factors (i.e. what advantage is obtained from a certain choice) but also by psychological elements (how emotional aspects and cognitive limits determine decisions) and social norms (how the behavior of others and shared social norms influence everyone’s decisions).

The course is focused on economics , with a highly interdisciplinary nature and solid quantitative and methodological foundations . Thanks to the particular mix between economics, social sciences and quantitative disciplines, it enhances the synergies between these subjects to grasp different perspectives on the main international economic issues.degree course
